Soft Noise presents: Asterisms #4, with Laura.aLL, 25.01.26/23.01(YAZ/WA), and Agente Costura.
Laura.aLL - Laura.aLL (aka LauraL, Laura Leiner) is a guitarist, experimental composer and curator. She is an artist and researcher with a multi-disciplinary background encompassing music, performing arts, sound art, video and social communication/journalism. 25.01.26/23.01(YAZ/WA) - 25.01.26/23.01(YAZ/WA) is the collaboration of YAZ and William “BIlwa” Costa. Marking their duo debut, they will perform “23.05.2025”; a graphic score for movement, sound, and light, based on numbers and letters from their names and the date. Layers of sine tones, in various frequencies, converge, beat, phase, and oscillate in dialogue with dance/ movement. Agente Costura - Agente Costura is a continuous building site for self playing, oscillating, blinking, touch sensitive, light sensitive, talking, soft, found, stitched, glitched, and hacked instruments, acting and reacting in an ever fluctuating state of chaos. It’s all a matter of resistance. Full details at https://softnoise.org/asterisms-4/. Message @repatterning on Telegram for entry if the door is closed Eintritt Spende |

Matmos + Chantal Michelle
Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt have been making music as Matmos since 1997, first in San Francisco, and since 2007 in Baltimore. They have made music out of a heterogeneous set of objects and sources. These raw materials are manipulated into accessible forms and often supplemented by traditional musical instruments Chantal Michelle is a composer and interdisciplinary artist whose practice engages with the tactile and spatial properties of sound. Her work incorporates feedback systems, multichannel speaker arrangements, and psychoacoustic phenomena to explore the relationship between sound, perception, and physical space. Iganz Schick: alto & baritone saxophone
Ingebrigt Haker Flaten: double bass Oliver Steidle: drums, precussion This new acoustic trio is consisting of three of the most iconic players of todays European jazz, improvisation and experimental music scene. This line-up took a long birth phase, but was a logical step and basically came out of juggling the possibilities and attempts of combining the effort of two high energy noise + electro-acoustic duos: Ignaz Schick/Oliver Steidle (ILOG) and Ingebrigt-Håker-Flaten/Ignaz Schick. Both duos started in 2013 (ILOG) and 2015 (HÅKER FLATEN/SCHICK) and have a long standing and fresh history - with concerts in clubs and festivals around Europe, the US and Mexico. But to merge both noise projects was a too obvious choice and somewhat diluting. So it was decided to leave the two power duos intact and separate, sister/brothers in crime to say, akin, but now allied in this wonderful acoustic trio with a back to the roots approach: Free Jazz and Free Improvisation! Pure, melodic, rhythmic, energetic, surprising and rooted in tradition. Don’t miss out on a rare opportunity to hear & see this three gentleman, who knows when they come together again next, all three are extremely busy men with numerous individual projects and intense itineraries. SHIVERS
Lisa Ullén – piano Louise Dam Eckhart Jensen - sax, flute, clarinet Johanna Sulkunen – voice, electronics Henrik Olsson – guitar Burkhard Beins - percussion The five musicians of this group met for the first time at the annual Danish Impro Camp Workshop Festival in 2023, to which they were invited as the instructors for that years edition. Their joint final concert sent such shivers down their spines that they quite naturally had to continue. A performance at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival the following year further fueled their enthusiasm and led to this third meeting at Morphine Raum to play a recorded concert. |

Fabiana Striffler - violin, voice In her current solo program, Fabiana Striffler presents herself as a musical storyteller. Her original compositions are poetic, full of suspense and surprises. She combines her compositional dedication with improvisations. These intimate solo performances create a unique connection between the artist and her audience - a direct, deeply felt experience that lingers long after the last note has been played. |

MOTUSNEU + Susanne Stock
Bruno Angeloni: alto saxophon Stephan Deller: upright bass Steffen Roth: drums Susanne Stock: accordion Leipzig’s MOTUSNEU transmits the trio’s electricity through radically free atonal sequences, percussive elements and transparent registers. But a much better description of their music than that afforded by musical terms is to see it at times as active observation, at times as the bare expression of a world in a state of upheaval. As a conscious confrontation with this world and as the simple attempt at a dialogue about the stories between artists and audience, of instrument and body, from person to person, without succumbing to the pressure to entertain. Denkraum Improvisation
Eintritt frei Info & Anmeldung: https://exploratorium-berlin.de/events/denkraum/lesekreis-improvisation-spezial-07-25/ |
