Eraslan und Thieke laden die Zuhörer*innen in einen Raum ein, in dem das Hören zu einem subtilen, in der Zeit schwebenden Dialog wird: Entstanden aus der gemeinsamen Hinwendung zu Stille, Atem und Resonanz, erkunden sie einen fragilen und intimen Klang, in dem sich improvisierte Texturen mit viel Ruhe entfalten. Dabei entwickelt sich ihre Musik mit zarten Obertönen, minimalistischen Gesten und dichten Schichten flüsternder Töne, die gelegentlich von Ausbrüchen roher, energiegeladener Interaktion durchbrochen werden. Im SATELLIT präsentieren sie ihr im Frühjahr 2025 auf scatterArchive (Glasgow/UK) veröffentlichtes Album Weaving Waves.

Psychic Liberation Night: Helm + Lottie Sebes

Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013 originally run by Miguel Alvariño under the name Primitive Languages as a cassette and record store project in New York City. Since 2019 Nick Klein has operated it solo from the EU under the title Psychic Liberation.

The concert series of the same name takes place in the Kuppelhalle with changing guests. On December 13th we look forward to welcoming Helm and Lottie Sebes.

MONA BARDERA presents, with just the right amount of solemnity and the necessary dose of chaos, the sixth edition of EMBASSY, returning to Berlin in 2025 as a temporary intervention where diplomatic protocol intersects with experimental music—and both politely pretend to get along. For this edition, La Mona brings together artists from Latin America —based in Europe, in Berlin, and across its many diasporas— along with sonic allies from other countries who share their spirit and frequency. They arrive with exposed wires, unruly devices, and a militant commitment to sonic exploration. Expect derailed electronics, radical improvisation, and performances that would most likely require a consular report. The Embassy guarantees authorized dissonances, rhythmic turbulence, high voltage, and an international musical exchange stamped as official… even if no one remembers who signed it.

Mit diesem Konzert feiern wir die Veröffentlichung unseres zweiten Albums „Beyond the Fingertips”. Es ist eine Direct-to-Disc Aufnahme. Das bedeutet: Sobald die rote Lampe angeht,
bleiben höchstens 18 Minuten Aufnahmezeit, die Musik wird direkt in den Lack geritzt, mit dem
letzten gespielten Ton ist die LP-Seite fertig, keine Nachbearbeitung möglich. Das erzeugt eine Spannung, die man sonst nur bei einem Konzert erlebt. Es ist der Versuch so authentisch und nahe am Konzerterlebnis zu sein wie möglich. Es ist auch eine Reminiszenz an längst vergangene Zeiten der Aufnahmetechnik, als Unvollkommenheit noch Teil des Prozesses war. Um es auf den Punkt zu bringen: Die Unvermeidbarkeit von Wahrheit und Irrtum. Diese Philosophie entspricht unserem Spiel, das durch die vielen Konzerte der letzten Jahre zu vertrauter und organischer Einheit gefunden hat und sich deshalb viel Risiko in der
Improvisation erlauben kann. Dafür muss man loslassen, den Dingen ihren Lauf lassen. Die
Musik entsteht dann an einem Ort, den man nicht festhalten kann - beyond the fingertips.

In ihrem Duo entsteht ein Klangraum radikaler Offenheit, in dem Saxophon und Trompete nicht als Stimmen traditioneller Linien erscheinen, sondern als Laboratorien klanglicher Transformation. Pauls eruptive, spektral gefasste Saxophontexturen treffen auf Dörners mikrotonale Atemarchitekturen und formen ein Gefüge, das sich permanent zwischen Geräusch, Ton und Stille neu organisiert

Sophie has a rather aggressive brain tumour, which is treatable but requires constant monitoring. She was admitted to hospital on 20 June and underwent successful surgery on 23 June. After a period of rest and rehabilitation (her right leg and arm need to regain their functionality), she began six weeks of radiotherapy. Since 6 October, she is in a rehabilitation and physiotherapy centre. This will be followed by six months of chemotherapy, with six days of treatment per month.
Since 20 June, Sophie is covered by social security. This represents a significant reduction in her income. She does not currently know when she will be able to start playing again.
She will therefore need money to continue paying her rent, her additional medical expenses, her month at the rehabilitation centre, which is not fully reimbursed by social security, etc. It is also important to know that she is in good spirits, determined not to give up and to return to the stage soon!
