All things come to an end! Capitalism has reached its final phase, the internet is being repurposed as an algorithmic surveillance machine. IT millionaires are engaged in preparations for the time after the end of civilisation. This music-theatre takes place in a fictive bunker, which is inhabited by a bird-like creature. A choir sings „last words“, light sources become musical instruments, thunderous and severe sounds are rattling the bunker. The end is near.

Part of the transmediale/CTM Vorspiel 2018 festival (http://vorspiel.berlin/)

Sound Portraits is a series of listening sessions, curated by Doron Sadja, focusing on the work of iconic composers who have paved the way for contemporary electronic music. After a short introduction of each artist´s life and work, we will listen to a selection of excerpts and complete works from the artist’s repertoire. Besides providing an opportunity to introduce these seminal artists to a new audience, the Sound Portraits series also offers an open forum to engage in group listening in a quiet atmosphere.

Knifeloop - remute control
Seamus O`Donnell (aka knifeloop) has been working on sound art performances and installations since 1999 in Berlin and abroad. Solo or collaborative works can include FM radio experiments; reel-to-reel tape machine loop or relays; or any mix of manipulated field recordings, self made devices, amplified objects and magnetic fields, no-input mixer as well as other more traditional instruments and voice. Improvisation is probably the most important factor.
As an organiser he works with ColaBoraDio, a part of the PiRadio Verbund, as presenter and programmer on the local frequency 88.4FM.
http://lifeloop.org/

John Bowers & Tim Shaw - Berlin, Sensor
Berlin, Sensor works with the image of the city of Berlin as a giant sensor device capable of picking up, analysing, and transmitting traces of local and global discord.

Federico Foderaro - Anthropocene Extended

Live audio-visual performance based on a high intensity energy composition

Andreas Lutz - Zwölftonform

"The work Zwölftonform offers a complementary approach to the consideration of how machines might deal with their autonomy in the future. Based on and inspired by the formalism of the twelve-tone row, Lutz plays with the assumption that this abstract form of music can have a harmonic effect on technically created intelligences. Thus, the real issue is no longer that man composes sound for people with the help of machines, but that machines create an aesthetics exclusively for machines and the human being remains merely an external observer."

THE END.

Sowieso has to stop !

Very unfortunately this will be the last evening of Sowieso to excist.

The financial situation is extremely desperate;
GEMA sends me bills of 800 Euros a month. I have the feeling they do not like that uncommercial music gets popular!
Also INNITATIVE MUSIK wants me to pay back more than 10.000 Euro of the price-money Sowieso got some years ago of having the best musicprogram. This has to do with paying rental defficits, that occured during the year that the U-8 was not functioning between Hermannplatz and Hermannstraße.!

I guess you can imagine that this shitty situation produces a lot of stress, wich has a very bad influence on my personal health.
